About Urgent Mitzvah Alert
The goal of UMA is to create a network of activists who are eager to help when an urgent, time-sensitive Mitzvah presents itself in their community.
UMA works off of a simple text message based system that can be set up in any community. A community activist is put in charge of their branch and responsible for spreading the work and getting community members involved. They also screen and monitor Mitzvah requests for those that fit the UMA criteria.
UMA System:
- Text message system to communicate with specific communities and members with specified areas of expertise and assistance abilities.
- Our own funding platform for raising monetary goals for urgent causes.
- Print media to spread UMA in any community.
- Member sign up on our site to be added to the UMA list for each community.
